Start of a new chapter

Life is different in my new temporary residential place.I got to make this place feel like my home and I am trying hard. The best thing about my room is that, one of the windows that face the North, provides me with a wonderful North Kolkata view and it is even more amazing when you view it at night and being a night bird,it is to my advantage. The last two days I was busy travelling the new roads in this place and that too all alone.Solitude and walk in a new place always provide me with some comfort-one just needs to be a little careful on the streets of Kolkata.I have also found some amazing sweetmeat shops and mouth watering 'fuchka' stalls near my college campus.I have also witnessed some truly humorous incidents here.I remember seeing a Jeep with almost seven people in it and the upper part of their bodies completely naked and they were singing at the top of their voices but how I wish I could complement them for their singing abilities because the humour was in their croaking voice and exposed potbellies, and when combined together was definitely some spectacle for the spectators.Another incident that happened with me was when I was walking on one of my favourite streets of the place early in the morning, that I met an elderly lady and whose entry at that time on my way was dramatic, frightening and hilarious. With her spread out palms,I thought she hoped to get some money from me but when I took out a five rupee note to give her,she said in her Bangladeshi accent,'taka chaina ko ma,majun dao'(I don't want money from you child,I want some toothpaste).I told her in my shaking voice, which was trying to control the induced laughter, that you can get your toothpaste with this money from any grocery shop. This is it for now and as the time rolls,I hope to write more about my good and bad experiences in my new place.
