Who says English is easy?

Who says English is easy?I honestly did not know how to pronounce Freud-it was confusing, until one day one of my schoolmates corrected me,indirectly and since then I know that I need to pronounce it as FROYED and not FREEEEEUD.Lets take an easy example-COW;a person not knowing the English alphabets may pronounce it as CO,because the W in itself is a two syllabic word(if we consider it's spelling),so people can be mistaken and they can pronounce it as Co and then W but it's real pronunciation is CAUU.Another simple example can be the word MORE.Judged from the spelling,it should sound as MOR-E,with a clear emphasis on E,but in English we don't do that because the E becomes silent. The same goes for the word LATE because we don't pronounce it as LATE-E.Confusion persists in the pronounciation of A as well.It becomes difficult for us to contemplate if we should pronounce A as we normally do,when we follow the English alphabetical chart or should we pronounce it as Aaaaa. So when we pronounce LATE,we consider the former sound A and don't refer it as L-AAAAA-TE(pronouncing A with parted lips and with an open mouth). It sounds funny to ears who know how the word is actually pronounced. And it is even amazing to think of how some words having almost similar sounds can often be mispronounced like for instance-PEACE and PIECE.The first word stands in meaning for something close to calmness(not the exact synonym) and the second PIECE,may mean segments. The first word is pronounced by stretching it a bit, while the second word PIECE,ends on a quick note of pronunciation. The spellings for PEACE and PIECE are different, but we don't pronounce the alphabet A in the word PEACE or the alphabet I in the word PIECE,otherwise it would stand as PICE.GAY and PRESENT are again words that has two meanings and two different pronunciations.Consider the word TSUNAMI,we never pronounce the alphabet T.Yes English vocabulary is rich, because the not so English words are also incorporated here and when Latin words are incorporated,it becomes all the more difficult, because Latin words usually have silent consonantal sounds and sometimes silent vowels,as well.As I begun, who says English is easy? And this was not even one third of my endeavour to illustrate my point.I shall perhaps continue it in some other post. P.S-Grateful to you ma'am for correcting me.And readers you see English is really not easy, because it is Pronunciation and not Pronounciation(reminds me of an old advertisement).
