This one month
Last one month i did not have the time to think what was happening all around me. Everything happened very fast and now it is almost time for the vacation to end. But i have been successful in making some significant changes in my life. I took a major decision this summer and had to run to a different state for the same. And it all happened very fast. Once the entire business gets perfectly done i shall tell you all about the why and where and what. Meanwhile the temperature is enough to boil us all alive. The times of India app on my mobile notified me that the monsoon this year will arrive late and will also be a very weak kind of Monsoon and this news upsets me more than anything because the place i live in, is probably one of the gates to hell. And i am sure all the places i move to in my future will not be very different. Anyway. Let me talk about Kolkata now. The last one month i had the opportunity to meet with all my friends and relatives and to travel to some beautiful places in Kolkata. The streets of North Kolkata came alive and with that my visit to one of the ghats of Kolkata made the journey all the more crucial and rejuvenating. The Ganges, the little houses on both the sides of the river like two narrow lines and the Howrah bridge, the wind and the twinkling water with the boats, the steamers, the launches looked so beautiful. I was in a launch with my brother and everything was so good. And this was not it. The celebration on Tagore's birthday at my cousin's, was also a treat to both my eyes and ears. One of my cousins tell me that there is nothing that can beat Rabindra sangeet in Bengal, during a proper evening. I completely agree. Then there were days when i went out with my friends. One day and i remember that day was Freud's birthday my friend and i went to attend a seminar at Rajabazar Science college. Another day one of my other friend and i met at Kalighat and went to Lake mall to watch Avengers and we ate a lot from all that i can recollect. And also i remember that this friend had a thousand calls from her mother that evening. Her mother continuously asked her that when would she return home. The weird part being she came in her car with a driver and her home was close to Lake mall, while i came all the way from North Kolkata to South Kolkata and that too alone. I mean what are we ?14? Anyway it was hilarious. I also remember meeting one of my school mates after eight long years. After class ten this friend moved to a different school and after class twelve we moved to different places and then now he is doing his masters and is in Punjab and I am in Madhya Pradesh. So despite being in touch with each other on Social media we could not meet each other all these years until this year, last month. So it was quite something. And i am sure I am missing out on a lot more. And that instantly reminds me that i also went out with some other friends to watch a Bengali detective movie and that day there were just two vehicles and we were six in number and we had to manage with those two vehicles and i had to sit in the front side of a scooty like a child and trust me it was fun, embarassing and quite a sight for others in the bus and autos. My stay in Durgapur was just two weeks or so and within that time i think i had to deal with all the house related problems which accumulated over the past one year including the water pipes fixation, getting people to clean the entire garden, getting the fridge work properly, going to the bank and the post office to fill new forms and getting the old ones right at place, getting people to clean all the three floors of the house twice, inviting guests and getting food prepared for them, answering all unwanted questions like ' When are you getting married? '' and getting the flight and railway tickets done via an agent. Thankfully the gas and electricity stuff were skillfully handled by my mother. God, the rush during these two weeks was so heavy that i often wonder as to how i could finish reading two complicated novels along with getting the other important business that i shall write about in my next blog, almost done. And lastly, i met with one of my professors and we talked for quite sometime as we both have a lot in commom in our lives. She had recently completed her Phd and is all set to pursue her post doc and hopefully not from India. Why hopefully ? Because i of all people don't want her to do it from India and i really hope she does not given the amount of skill, knowledge and calibre that she has. And she also gave me four beautiful badges as a gift and i shall preserve them forever.
