Chhatarpur- countdown begins

Now that the countdown has begun I can write a few things about this place. Long back when i got the interview call i had some misgivings but I preferred it over the other two jobs that i got in Kolkata. Because of the brand of course. I wanted my first job to have that class. And then ,after I was appointed as a teacher ,Mohit, who is the accountant of our school and now a good friend of mine, showed me  our house in Chhatarpur where my mother and I were supposed to stay for the remaining of our time here. " Surendra Villaz " as they spell it was a lonely and a little isolated colony near Chhatarpur railway station and to this day it still is. To add twist in my story we were not the only residents in the new house of this colony. We were asked to share our space with another male teacher. At first the way Mohit introduced everything to us, I thought that this new male teacher from Egypt would actually be an elderly man or something. But later we found out he was a kid of my age. ( chuckles ). We were not sure if things would turn out well with the two of us on one side and him on the other. But it did. And to this day it continues. There are no inside house problems that we face except for the fact that the kitchen cleanliness is sometimes a huge issue. Otherwise we share the money for both electricity and gas every time and we live peacefully. We don't disturb each other's privacy. And also over time we have made some good memories. And they will stay with me even after I leave this house. The bond is professional and without any trust or friendship. And that is what I like about it. Now about school.  The first time when I entered school i was given classes 4,5 and 6 to teach. On the 15th day of my job life here i was asked to become the mentor for personality development and public speaking in English. I had no clue about this entire thing but when it worked out successfully for the next fifteen days, principal ma'am promoted me to class 8 because she thought I bonded well with the teenagers. And that pretty much changed my life for the remaining days of the year. Class 8A it was. It had some of the naughtiest students but the best part was all of them were good, talented students. I bonded with them more because of the little age gap that existed and because i was linient. I faced some bad moments too where I had to take the entire class to princi's office as well but then I was not the only teacher doing that. Some experienced teachers also had to take this step because this class was the naughtiest of all. But things started settling down inside my mind and class 8A taught me so many things which i am so sure will help me in my upcoming journey. I will not forget this class or the students. So yes, I am taking the good memories from this class with me too. Did i mention that the entire class actually tied a Rakhi on my wrist? That was someday. My juniors on the other hand were easier to deal with. I mean in DPS Chhatarpur, if you dealt with class 8A and class 10 successfully last year, you can deal with any other class. So my juniors were easier to handle and were curious about every little grammar activity. They were the energetic group and i also remember dancing with them during the dance lessons along with their class teachers. I shall take these memories with me. My trip to Jhansi and Delhi were memorable too. While my mother was all worried about how I would manage my students, I did that deligently and successfully. I will take this with me too. Not all extra hour training session and workshops proved to be beneficial for me and hence I would happily forget them. In the new session I was appointed the class teacher of class 6 and i was told that i was the youngest teacher in the school history to be appointed as a class teacher of middle school. I will remember this proud moment forever and i will consider this as my achievement. The one odd month that i spent as the class teacher of class eA was hectic but i enjoyed every bit of it. I made some good friends here. Surabhi i will pack you and take you with me. Shipra ma'am you are the boss lady. Anjali ma'am- you are so perfect and Jairam sir- don't worry, things will settle down. Sachin uncle, Gungun and Krishna- thank you for being so lovely and helpful.I will have to come back to Chhatarpur three more times to get my B.Ed done and to take the result with me. My second sem B.Ed exams are going on and it is a little too annoying. Over all thank you Chhatarpur for all the good things and the constructive headaches that came from the not so worthy people around. I learned a lot from you. I beleive all good things and other heart breaking moments have a purpose to fulfill in the future. Lastly i am happy to be in friendly terms with a few students here. This journey would not have been the same without you peeps. Take care.
